At Unilever, we are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions across our value chain by 2039. One of the most impactful steps toward this goal is electrifying our commercial fleets—a practical solution that reduces carbon emissions and sets a global benchmark for sustainable business practices.

Road2.0: Pioneering Commercial EV Adoption in the UAE

In line with this ambition, Unilever Arabia is proud to have been among the first companies to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) into our commercial fleet in the UAE. Beyond this, we have been an active supporter of Road2.0, powered by UACA, convened by Emirates Nature-WWF, and endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI UAE) since its inception.

The newly launched Road2.0 Year 1 Report marks a significant milestone: it presents the UAE’s first evidence-based feasibility study on commercial EVs, based on pilots led by Road2.0 signatories, including Unilever. During the first year of implementation, 90 commercial EVs were launched and tested under local UAE conditions, proving that fleet electrification is not just a vision—it’s already happening.

To unlock the full potential of commercial EVs, the report identifies three critical levers:

  • Boosting demand and supply of commercial EVs
  • Developing fit-for-purpose charging infrastructure
  • Resolving operational hurdles to support adoption

Additionally, the report highlights three priority charging hotspots in Dubai, identified by Road2.0 signatories. These insights are instrumental in driving the collective push for commercial fleet decarbonization.

We are proud to lead this transformation and remain committed to shaping a future where green mobility is the norm.
